Poltronova Farfalla rug designed by Centro Studi Poltronova is inspired by the Farfalla pattern, designed by the Archizoom group in 1967. The pattern was created as an exploration of the juxtaposition between floral decoration, influenced by the Liberty movement, and the artistic experiments emerging in the realm of Pop Art during that era. The rug offers three reinterpretations of the main components that compose the original pattern: Farfalla, Prato, and Cielo. These three variants are characterized by an explosion of primary colors and simple, geometric shapes. The decorative motifs used on the rug are reminiscent of the works of artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol and include polka dots, checkerboards, and oblique stripes. The Poltronova Farfalla rug was created in collaboration with the Centro Studi Poltronova per il Design and cc-tapis. This collaboration has resulted in a unique rug that blends the aesthetic of 1960s design with the energy and vibrancy of Pop Art.
