Louis Poulsen PH 4½-3½ Glass Table Lamp

Louis Poulsen Ph 4½-3½ Glass table lamp was designed by Poul Henningsen. The product is part of the 3-screen family, which provides a direct light, using incandescent bulbs as a light source. Henningsen has created not just a light, but an entire system. Thanks to this system the designer was able to achieve a uniform distribution of light that together with the diffuse reflection through the glass allows to control glare and shadows. Each shade reduces the amount of light equally, considering the distance from the light source. The initials PH are accompanied by a number that indicates the shade size. The PH 4/3 model consists of a top shade of approximately 45cm, but the lower shades are used from the 3½ model. The family includes different models, table, wall, floor and pendant lamps as well as chandeliers which were very popular in the1930s in private homes with high ceilings.
