Walnut
Vitra Stools was designed by Chalers & Ray Eames in 1960. The Eames Office was commissioned by Time Inc. to outfit the interiors of three lobbies in New York's Rockefeller Center. As part of this project, Charles and Ray Eames designed the plush Lobby Chairs and a series of solid walnut stools. These turned stools, which can also be used as occasional tables, are differentiated by the distinctive profiles of their shafts.
Charles and Ray Eames are counted among the most important figures of twentieth-century design. Their work spans the fields of furniture design, filmmaking, photography and exhibition design. Vitra is the sole authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East. When you own an Eames product made by Vitra, you know it is an original.
