Vitra EM Table designed by Jean Prouvè in 1950. The aesthetic aspect of Jean Prouvé's EM Table adheres to structural principles, illustrating the flow of forces and stresses in its construction. Available in a range of various sizes with premium quality solid wood or HPL laminate tops in a selection of colors. The 2000 or 2400 mm length tops are also available in oak veneer. Thanks to the large selection, you can find the ideal EM Table for any dining room.
The designer and engineer Jean Prouvé conceived the EM Table (Entretoise Métallique, metal uprights) around 1950 for the “Maison Tropicale” project. Following the aesthetics of necessity, even the smallest details of this table are determined by its design. The inclined legs are connected by a crossbar, highlighting the structural forces and static relationships in a manner typical of engineering constructions.
The EM Table is available with top in solid wood, in sturdy HPL laminate or - for tops with a length of 2,000 or 2,400 mm - in veneered wood.
