Vitra Eames Soft pad chaise ES 106 was designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1968. This chaise longue is avaiable with two leather quality. The upholstery is made of six fixed cushions and two movable cushions. The base is in die-cast aluminum, powder-coated. It's reccomended for residential use only. Six cushions joined with zippers are attached to the aluminium frame, and two loose cushions provide extra comfort.
Charles and Ray Eames developed the Soft Pad Chaise ES 106 for a long-time friend, the film director Billy Wilder. He had expressed the desire for a recliner that would allow him to take a short nap during shooting breaks. With its softly padded cushions and leather upholstery, the Soft Pad Chaise provides a comfortable spot to lie down and relax.
