Cassina Pro Bureau Boomerang desk, designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1938, was created for the office furniture of Jean-Richard Bloch, an intellectual, writer, co-director of the Ce Soir newspaper, and founder of the French Supervisory Board for antifascist writers. The desk gets its name from its unusual boomerang shape introduced by Perriand, which has no sharp corners. It can accommodate about 10 people without anyone occupying a central position, putting an end to the "presidential" office archetype. Working closely with Pernette Perriand-Barsac, Cassina reissues this desk with exquisite new finishes: oak-stained ash, black-stained ash, or Canaletto walnut with a natural finish. The sumptuous and impressively thick wood top, the focal point of the piece, can be entirely clad in saddle leather or equipped with an optional desk mat. The solid wood legs feature harmonious and organic lines, a recurring characteristic in Perriand's works.
