Cassina Indochine Chair
61 x 56 x h. 73 cm.
Ash Painted, Fabric, Leather, Walnut
The Cassina Indochine chair, designed by Charlotte Perriand, is an adaptation of the LC7 metal tube armchair later included in the group of furniture co-signed with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the 1929 Salon d'Automne.
Indochine was designed in Vietnam in 1943 using the materials and craftsmanship techniques available during the war.
Initially it was structured with three legs and later with four. The model reflects the flexible and ingenious approach of the designer, who often adapted her designs to the available materials and production locations. Cassina has reissued Indochine in full respect of the original design, interpreting it with a fine solid wood construction that highlights the company's excellence in woodworking.
