Molteni Asterias Table

The Molteni Asterias table, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is a large table with a central base that resembles the cactus from which it gets its name. Asterias is a round table with six curving wedge-shaped panels that are cantilevered from a central pedestal.

Internal iron structure with concrete counterweights. Outer block made of moulded curved panels of beech plywood (Fagus sylvatica), covered with wood veneer.
The 3D moulding technique is used to create the wood panels. The top, available in wood or cement, is separated into four segments by a rounded edge, creating an unusual geometric shape.
Asterias is available in two sizes, 160cm and 180cm, with or without turntable.
