Molteni D.859.1 Table

The Molteni D.859.1 table was designed by Gio Ponti as a conference table for the headquarters of Time Inc., publisher of historic and highly influential publications such as Time, Life, Fortune, People and Sports Illustrated. Among the most important commissions entrusted to Gio Ponti, D.859.1 has imposing dimensions but above all a refined and essential design.

The solid ash wood trapezoidal base distinguishes out for its lightness and modernism. A real single-span bridge with a broad, tapering top that emphasizes the bridge's aerodynamics.
It was originally made of solid ash with brass tips, and it is currently available in both the original and black-stained ash versions. In addition to the original dimensions, D.859.1 is now available in two smaller sizes that maintain the original design's harmony and proportions.
