Fiber, Wood
Cappellini Homage to Mondrian cabinet is a marvellous tribute to the great Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, inspired by its most beautiful paintings. The cabinet, realised by the Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata in 2009, is an original system of cabinets and drawers created from lacquered wood and mounted on weels. The case structure is constructed of high-density fibre conglomerate panels, matt lacquered in couplings of black with white, blue, red and yellow with strong geometric designs. The cabinet, in its two different versions (PL_18 AND PL_19), combines the playful and coloured drawers and doors with geometric shapes and leading lines.
