Molteni D.154.2 Armchair

Molteni D.154.2 armchair design by Gio Ponti. D.154.2 armchair is designed by Gio Ponti and reissued by Molteni with rigid polyurethane shell and a soft polyurethane counter-shell and seat cushion. The armchair, designed for one of Gio Ponti's most cherished projects, the villa of the Planchart collectors in Caracas in 1953-57, is part of the Gio Ponti Collection, curated by Molteni & C with the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati.

Today the armchair, which is like a welcoming shell, has a rigid polyurethane shell, a soft polyurethane counter-shell and a cushion, and is upholstered in the range of Molteni & C fabrics and leathers, with the possibility of differentiating the elements. This "love chair" won the prestigious Wallpaper Design Awards in 2016 and became a Molteni & C icon.
