Fritz Hansen Egg Armchair

The Fritz Hansen Egg chair, designed by Arne Jacobsen, is a masterpiece of Danish design. Jacobsen experimented with wire and plaster in his garage, like a sculptor, to mould the shell's precise form. It is now regarded as one of Jacobsen's legendary career achievements and a colossal feat in Scandinavian workmanship.

The shell is made by foam, and back is covered with tricot wadding 100g, before the chair is upholstered with fabric or leather. The shell of the lounge chair has an adjustable tilt fitting which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user.
The star-shaped swivel base consists of a satin chromed (or powder coated) steel tube connected to a base in aluminium.
