The Artek Pirkka was designed as a seat to relax on and cool off after a sauna session. The stool style is inspired by traditional Finnish furniture, yet it also works well in clean and modern spaces.
The Pirkka Stool was designed in 1955 by Ilmari Tapiovaara. It has solid birch legs and a seat made of two pieces of bent pinewood. The opening in the centre of the seat doubles as a grip for moving the stool around with ease. The Pirkka Stool is available in one heights/finish and is part of a collection of stools, seats, and tables designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara to combine tradition with innovation.
