The Shibui seat by Paola Lenti, designed by Francesco Rota, is a unique and versatile seating solution that can be used on the ground or suspended, allowing you to create a customized and stylish seating experience.
The structure of the Shibui seat is made of graphite-colored, painted AISI 304 stainless steel, ensuring durability and stability. The suspended version of the seat features stainless steel cables coated in polypropylene, along with stainless steel AISI 316 clamps and carabiners for ceiling or beam suspension. The seat panel is a work of craftsmanship, constructed from thermotreated ash wood rods, specifically Aurea Optima, which are intricately woven and fastened to the structure using jute straps.
This creates a comfortable and visually striking seating surface. The seat is made even more inviting with a removable mattress that includes polyester fiber padding and a deformable polyurethane insert, all covered with a hydro-repellent polyester fabric.
The mattress cover is also removable and can be customized with fabrics from the outdoor collection, allowing you to tailor the Shibui seat to your preferred style. It's important to note that the provided cables are installed to enable the platform to be attached to ceilings with standard heights of 270 cm. The thermotreated ash wood rods are treated with a water-based hydro-oleophobic finish, which limits the absorption of liquids and greasy substances. Additionally, for an alternative to the fabric-covered mattress, you can use one or more Plump, a handwoven mattress made from elements of mélange tubular chain fabric. The Shibui seat is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and it's recommended to use a Winter Set for protection during outdoor use. With its adaptability and distinctive design, the Shibui seat is an elegant and functional addition to a variety of spaces.
