The Cassina CAB 413 is an iconic chair of the Cassina collection designed by Mario Bellini in the 70s. The CassinaCAB chair is known and appreciated all over the world as is the first chair in characterized by a self-supporting leather frame inspired by the relationship between skeleton and leather. These characteristics make the CAB a simple yet ingenious chair.
The leather upholstery consists of many different parts, each of which has undergone 14 manual processes. Every single cut part is first subjected to a fleshing process, in order to thin the thickness of the parts to be coupled. Once the leather assembly is completed, the covering is then placed on a steel skeleton and closed with zippers. Just like a tailored suit.
