Louis Poulsen PH Louvre Suspension Lamp

Louis Poulsen PH Louvre is a lamp designed by Poul Henningsen in 1957. The light of this pendant lamp does not blind, a design principle that Louis Poulsen takes very seriously, which can be seen in almost all their lamp designs.
The PH Louvre achieves this through the ingenious, geometric sphere construction that characterizes the pendant. The sphere construction is built on the principle of illuminating all surfaces under the same angle to create a lovely, uniform light that lights up walls and ceilings alike. This principle is also the reason that the rings of the construction are placed at exact angles to allow the light to hit their surfaces. The matte undersides and glossy surfaces ensure an amazing reflection and a beautiful, diffuse light. All these construction elements create an amazing distribution of the light, both for its surroundings and for the lamp itself, as the pendant has incredible, sculptural value even when it’s turned off.
