Molteni D.847.1 Consolle

The Molteni D.847.1 console, designed by Gio Ponti, has been revived more than 70 years after its conception.
The desk has a curved top that resembles an airplane wing, as well as a little drawer beneath it with a rounded front - a real innovation that would become a feature of many Ponti items in the years to come.

The Heritage Collection reissue effort by Molteni&C, in partnership with the Gio Ponti Archives, has given the D.847.1 console table a new lease on life. As with all of the Heritage Collection projects, meticulous research of drawings, photos, and period materials allowed the D.847.1 desk to be faithfully reproduced in all of its intricacies, revealing a masterpiece inspired by the high degree of artistry in solid wood processing.

In the play of curves and the design of a beautifully rounded drawer, this attractive and refined desk was modern in its profiles and proportions, which are both classic and original.
