Vitra Heart Cone chair was designed by Verner Panton in 1958. This piece combines the elegance of the 50s with the spirit of the 60s design. Having become an icon, despite all its charge of absolute extravagance, the Heart Cone Chair is an armchair suitable for daily use and extremely comfortable for rooms, restaurants, bars and private environments. The shell is in plastic reinforced with fiberglass. The covering is in polyurethane foam while the cross base is in satin stainless steel. It is part of a series of furniture listed on simple geometric shapes. Panton anticipated some elements of Pop Art, while equaling the elegance of Scandinavian modernism in the realization of the bases. This armchair owes its name to the large backrest, which recalls Mickey Mouse's ears, but can also be interpreted as a contemporary evolution of the classic bergère armchair.

Verner Panton was an influential figure in the development of design in the 60s and 70s. After moving to Switzerland in the early 1960s, the Danish designer became known for his original and innovative ideas for furniture, lighting and fabrics. The masterful use of color was a hallmark of his work.
