The Molteni 45 Vetrina showcase, designed by Ron Gilad, is made to hold and display valuable items and books. As a result, the outcome is a translucent solid that invites the viewer to dwell on its contents.
The shelves are rotated and bevelled, resulting in a displacement of 90 degrees to 45 degrees without the need of edges. Geometrically spinning surfaces with 45° smoothed edges accomplished by hooking aluminum profiles onto a metal joint and veneering with expensive wood types. With the exception of a little key on the lateral profile, the opening is completely hidden.
