The Oxford™ chair was handcrafted for the professors at St Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford and designed by Arne Jacobsen. A symbol of prestige and status, the high back and smooth, curved veneer form were crafted to invoke a sense of space and privacy. The design evolved over time into today’s Oxford™. The new, extended seat delivers a more natural sitting posture, while the upgraded tilt mechanism and adjustable seat height better respond to different body types and activities. Angled armrests tuck neatly under tabletops. And multiple base options, including a new a four-star fixed base, come in a range of finishes for total customisation. Leather and textile upholstery in new colours enhance the minimalist design, which is equally at home in private spaces as in the office or a public place.
