Vitra La Chaise is the chaise longue that Charles & Ray Eames designed in 1948 inspired by the sculpture "Floating Figure" by Gaston Lachaise, on the occasion of a competition held by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This sculptural piece of furniture visually compelling and extraordinary elegance allows different seating positions, also elongated. The lounge has always been considered an icon of organic design. He has a body of polyurethane lacquer white.The base is in chromed tubular steel, while the cross base is solid oak with natural protective enamel.

Charles and Ray Eames are counted among the most important figures of twentieth-century design. Their work spans the fields of furniture design, filmmaking, photography and exhibition design. Vitra is the sole authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East. When you own an Eames product made by Vitra, you know it is an original.

Material description
Shell: polyurethane, white lacquer finish.
Base: chrome-plated tubular steel.
Cruciform base: solid natural oak, protective natural lacquer finish.
Origin of wood: oak (Quercus robur) from Western Europe and/or Poland.
