Nuage MX freestanding version. Shelves: oak with clear matte varnish coating Vertical elements: matte black coated aluminium Sliding doors: painted aluminium in the colours: yellow, blue and red. Sliding trays: natural anodized aluminium. Support elements: oak with clear matte varnish coating. Clamping bushes: stainless steel Sideboards, cupboards, bookshelves, with ground support or hung following symmetrical and asymmetrical plans, free-standing bookcases. The basic components are the wooden oak shelves and vertical elements in anodised or painted black aluminium. Five di¦erent heights. The MX compositions can be enriched with functional sliding trays in anodised aluminium. Sliding doors in anodised aluminium or painted in various colours. This modular family of bookshelves takes freedom of composition and modularity to new extremes. For Charlotte Perriand, each modular unit was never simply a rigid flavourless piece, but was a starting block, o¦ering a functional yet tasteful design that could meet needs of any potential buyer. This design speaks volumes on Perriand’s pioneering modern approach as one who strongly believed in the “art” “of building”, “of inhabiting”, and “of living”.
