Catellani Smith Alchemie T Table Lamp

Catellani & Smith Alchemie T is a sculpture composed of two discs: the former, made of alabaster and lit by LEDs, stays fixed, while the latter slides on a track-base made of Medea limestone.The duality between light and darkness, Sun and Moon, is a perpetual element, an integral part of the same stream of existence. Numerous allegorical interpretations have been bestowed upon the inextricable link between two components, both existing as a consequence of the other.

The innovative Alchemie T lamp, designed by Giulia Archimede, explores this dimension where two contrasting entities remain eternally intertwined. The interplay between light and shadow reaches its zenith when the two discs overlap, creating an eclipse-like effect that is truly remarkable.
